Take part of the most complete Kanban simulation out there and design the Kanban system that fits your purpose following the STATIK approach. All that by joining the Kanban System Design 16 hours training, the first step towards KMP certification.
Kanban System Design
Description
The Kanban System Design is a 16 hours training designed to enable participants to model their own Kanban systems, following the STATIK approach. Moreover, as part of KSD training, participants will take part of the most complete Kanban simulation out there. And it is also the official first course, out of two, in the track to get KMP certification.
With Kanban, we start by developing and visualising a joint understanding of the current way of working. We look at how things are working and where there are sources of dissatisfaction. Then, improvements are identified and introduced. The Kanban System Design training provides the foundational background of the Kanban Method and then guides the students through the process of understanding their systems so they can design an appropriate Kanban system to meet their needs. As a result, you will be able to design a Kanban system to improve visibility, communication, and collaboration within your team.
Benefits
- Understand the basics, motivation, and benefits of The Kanban Method.
- Remarkably, experience flow in the most complete and realistic Kanban simulation.
- Learn how to run the Kanban meetings to focus on the work and allow the team to organise around it.
- Build and design a Kanban system using the STATIK approach.
- Become faster and more responsive, with better risk management and governance.
- Understand “Pull” systems and how they help reduce overburdening.
- Learn how to utilise key metrics such as Lead Time, Run Charts, and Cumulative Flow Diagrams to make continuous improvements.
Prerequisites
Attendees are expected to have read “Kanban” by David J Anderson or “Kanban from the Inside” by Mike Burrows.
Kanban System Design is for you if…
If you will be directly involved in designing and managing a Kanban system, you certainly want to take the Kanban System Design training. You may still want to take the Team Kanban Practitioner course first if you feel that you are very new to Kanban and to Kanban concepts. It really depends on your starting point and goals.
If you currently work with teams that have “plateaued” and aren’t improving, this course will help you to design visualisations that show where improvement opportunities exist.
Note that the training is NOT just for IT professionals. As a matter of fact Kanban has a great penetration in the IT area. We’ve seen, however, training participants – as well as success cases – from HR, Marketing, Finance, Portfolio Management and several others knowledge areas.
Kanban University Certified Training
Participants will receive a certificate of completion for the Kanban System Design training. Moreover, the KSD – Kanban System Design course is the first step towards the Kanban Management Professional – KMP certification. Students completing KSD plus KSI – Kanban Systems Improvements courses receive the KMP certification.
Once again, both KSD and KSI trainings are required to achieve KMP, the most famous certification from Kanban University.
Training formats
Corporate options
A great part of the training happen in private classes inside organisations. If you represent a company and have the intention to promote a private class, we can make it happen. Your company can either host the class on-premises or we arrange it in an external location close by. The 16 hours can be completed in 2 consecutive days or distributed along 4 days. Or even in person vs. remote. Get in contact and share your intention!
